Agile Subject Matter Expert (SME)

As an Agile Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will provide substantive support to the Program Management Office (PMO) coordinating all AI and ML development efforts for the Director of the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC), a 3-Star Flag Officer in the Department of Defense.  The Agile SME will also assist by helping to develop and instill methodologies for the JAIC organization to ensure that all departments align with the JAIC overall mission.


Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Provide Agile project management advice and counsel to the PMO team and JAIC programs as needed.
  • Assist the government with establishing an Agile environment across the JAIC. 
  • Develop Risk and Issue Management practices and registers.
  • Scaling the development process as needed to handle larger and more complex enterprise-level projects.
  • Developing a strategy to integrate an Agile development process across the JAIC’s business
  • Designing and implementing an effective Agile transformation for the JAIC to include whatever level of cultural change and change management might be needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Active DoD-issued Top Secret level security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field and twelve (12) or more years of related experience with five (5) or more years of leading Agile development efforts

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move items that weigh up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
