Position Objective:
This position is with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP). Analyze, research, and design current and potential technology solutions for the division. This assistance may include analysis of existing technology and tool solutions, demonstrations, benchmarking, and system selection recommendations. As solutions are developed or procured, and implementation is initiated, support may include facilitation of requirements gathering and application design sessions, identifying technical subject matter experts, developing technical solutions, and implementing project management practices across all technology efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Document, design and support related processes and enabling systems and tools
  • Design, build, deploy and support systems and tools both internal and external in support of management and operations
  • Deploy analytics tools for scientific research grants to facilitate physicians and researchers’ analysis of data
  • Design, deploy and support analytics and visualization for more informed and pro-active operational decision; Provide Subject matter expertise to promote cross division, cross center, agency wide State and local health Department IT strategies, Data needs and use, risk identification, mitigation and solutions
Basic Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated program management and planning experience
  • Proficient in MS SQL (queries) as well as working in virtual environments
  • Solid understanding of core information technology processes and controls (security administration, application and system change management, data center operations; data management, disaster recovery, etc.), current trends in information technology, and emerging themes in the market place.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development lifecycle, especially the HHS Enterprise Performance Life Cycle
  • Experience with all phases of a client software implementation lifecycle, including initial needs analysis, project administration, software installation, onsite training, systems troubleshooting, and ongoing account management
  • Experience with enterprise architectures/technologies including .NET, Java, Web Services (SOA & REST) and JavaScript
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: BS/BA with 5 + years related experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office product suite
  • PMP preferred
  • Professional Certification such as CIA, CISA, CISSP, HCISSP, CPHIMS, CPHIT, or similar experience is desired
  • Must be United States citizen or permanent resident or have authorization for employment in the United States
