DecisionPoint is actively seeking a qualified Data Analyst that supports a large contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). This position will report directly to the Deputy Program Manager. The full-time position is based in Gaithersburg, MD.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for devising analysis, reporting, and system capability solutions to support the contract business strategy through actionable insights.
· Design and produce required contract analysis reports, to include key metrics to aid in assessment of contract performance.
· Perform on-going analyses on program health and provide input to stakeholders.
· Conduct data analysis in response to management requests to assist in problem solving.
· Position requires access to sensitive Veteran information and is subject to the Privacy Act. Applicants must be able to pass required background checks and complete training.
· Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
· 2-5 years’ hands-on Federal Government analytics experience with proven quantitative orientation.
· At least 1 years’ experience in data management, data quality, or business applications functions.
· BS/BA in Statistics, Economics or Mathematics is preferred.
· Experience and understanding of Information Architecture concepts.
· Experience working in healthcare or medical industry preferred.
Business Tools:
· Advanced Modeling, Excel skills and proficiency in SQL.
· Tableau or similar Business Intelligence tools.
· Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or Microsoft Power BI).
· Advanced MS Project skills.
· Creative problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.
· Effective communication skills with an ability to synthesize and disseminate knowledge, and communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and be self-motivated.
· Ability to effectively manage competing priorities with a sense of urgency.
· Ability to query, mine, and manipulate and analyze large volumes of data, create new and improved techniques, and/or solutions for data collection, management, and usage.
· Skilled in understanding and correcting data discrepancies; reading and translating data models; data querying; identifying data anomalies and root cause analysis; understanding and capability to explain Master Data Management.
· Physical requirements may include lifting or reaching; extended periods in stationary position (sitting or standing), repetitive motion (computer usage). Ability to perceive verbal communications and possess visual acuity necessary to review documents and electronic records.
